Czech Grand Design Awards Nomination - Producer of the Year
We have been nominated for the prestigious award Czech Grand Design in the category Producer of the Year.
2020 was a milestone year for us.
85 years of experiences enabled us to develop and roll out our novelty - Elica extendable dining table and Elica chairs. At first glance, you cannot discern that the extendable table is extendable. Its mechanism is perfectly hidden. The uniqueness of the design of the table is made by the smooth arch-shaped transition from legs and aprons.
Altogether with the Elica dining table we decided to develop new dining chairs using a selection of precise details from the table. During the production of each extendable table we put wood next to each other in order to achieve a continuous figure from main table top to the extra inserts on the table.
All our tables are constructed using traditional strong mortise and tenon joint and glue. The Elica table is not an exception. That is the reason, why we deliver them already completely assembled. This is one of the key criteria defining premium quality tables. We think also about the youngest members of your family. Therefore, you cannot find sharp edges on the Elica furniture. All edges are softly rounded. For surface finish you can choose a high quality natural oil.
Official premiere of the Elica dining set took place at the prestigious design festival DESIGNBLOK 2020. The display of table and chairs had been conceived under supervision of Václav Mlynář from the renowned MONUMENT OFFICE design studio. You can take a virtual tour of our display here.
